Croft Architects was established in 1994 and specialises in contemporary and traditional character residential design and small scale commercial buildings for Brisbane and the South-East Queensland region. As a practice, we offer a broad range of services to suit our client’s needs, no matter how small or large.

Bob Croft has extensive past experience in a wide range of project types spanning large scale commercial and education portfolios. For 30 years, Bob has specialised in small scale projects tailored to Queensland’s climate and context. Bob is a registered Architect in Queensland.

Croft Architects will assist you in all scales of projects from simple home improvement ideas, decks, garages, carports, granny flats, kitchen and bathroom renovation, through to new homes, minor and major alterations to traditional character Queenslanders, house raising and building in under and guidance with town planning compliance for small lot houses and building in traditional character residential areas.

Our services can range from assistance with simple design ideas to full service project management by arranging builders, building contracts and undertaking construction inspections to assure you of time, cost and quality control through to completion.

Residential Alterations and Additions

When you have a special home, with special features but space is tight and an extension or renovation needs to be considered, it is important to consider using an architect to ensure the alterations properly integrated with the original home rather than being awkwardly ‘tacked on’. Croft Architects pride ourselves on being three dimensional problem solvers who can work with you to assess your current home limitations and discuss your short, medium and long term needs.

Residential New Builds

We strive to encourage Clients to reduce their carbon footprint by considering renovations prior to demolishing and constructing new buildings. However, we also understand that this is not always possible given brief requirements, site conditions and client ambitions.

All our buildings respond to the environmental influences of the site and its micro and macro weather conditions. Material selection and construction approach is also important to consider when assessing a project’s ‘carbon footprint’.
